This Privacy Policy explains how I and I Industries collects, uses, stores, protects and shares information when you use the ProConnect Provider mobile application and related services.
In this policy, “ProConnect”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to I and I Industries. “Provider”, “you” and “your” refer to a person who registers for or uses ProConnect Provider.
1. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We may collect information you provide when applying, registering, signing in or updating your provider profile, including:
- Full name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Profile photograph
- Service category or trade
- Work experience and qualifications
- Provider approval and verification status
Identity and compliance documents
To assess and verify providers, we may collect documents such as:
- Identity documents
- Proof of address
- Police-clearance documents
- Trade certificates and qualifications
- Insurance documents
- Bank-confirmation documents
Banking and transaction information
We may collect bank-account and transaction information required to administer provider payments, registration fees, platform commission, refunds and financial records. This may include:
- Bank name
- Account-holder name
- Account number
- Branch code
- Account type
- Payment and transaction references
- Registration-fee and commission status
- Invoices and payment records
Payment transactions may be processed by approved third-party payment providers. Their own privacy policies and security terms may also apply.
Job and service information
When you use the app to receive and complete jobs, we may process:
- Jobs offered, accepted or declined
- Quotes, estimates and final amounts
- Job status and completion information
- Availability and online or offline status
- Before-and-after job photographs
- Messages relating to a service request
- Ratings, reviews and customer feedback
- Warranty, return, complaint and dispute information
Location information
With your permission, ProConnect Provider may collect precise or approximate device-location information when location functionality is required. Location information may be used while you are online, travelling to an assigned job, providing live progress or completing a location-related service action.
Customers may be shown relevant information about an assigned provider’s position, travel progress, distance or estimated arrival time. We do not intend to display your live location publicly to unrelated users.
Device and technical information
The app and its service providers may automatically process technical information needed to operate, secure and improve the service, including:
- Device and operating-system information
- Application version
- Notification tokens
- Security and diagnostic logs
- Network and IP-address information
- Crash or error information
2. How we use information
We may use information to:
- Create, authenticate and maintain provider accounts
- Review and approve provider applications
- Verify provider identity, documents and bank details
- Match providers with relevant customer service requests
- Display jobs that match a provider’s registered service type
- Support quotes, job progress, navigation and completion
- Provide customers with relevant job and arrival information
- Process registration fees, payments and platform commission
- Send service, job, payment and security notifications
- Provide customer and provider support
- Investigate complaints, returns, fraud and disputes
- Protect users, the platform and the public
- Comply with legal, financial and regulatory obligations
- Improve the performance, reliability and security of the app
3. Grounds for processing information
We process personal information only where there is an appropriate reason to do so. Depending on the situation, this may include:
- Your consent
- Performing or preparing to perform an agreement with you
- Operating and protecting the ProConnect service
- Complying with a legal or regulatory obligation
- Protecting the legitimate interests and rights of users
- Preventing fraud, misuse and security threats
Where consent is required, you may withdraw it, although doing so may prevent certain app features from working.
4. How information may be shared
We may share only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose with:
- Customers who have been matched with or assigned to you, such as your name, service information, rating, profile photograph and relevant job-progress information
- Authorised ProConnect administrators who manage provider approvals, jobs, payments, support and disputes
- Cloud, hosting, database, messaging, mapping and application-service providers
- Approved banks and payment-processing providers
- Professional advisers, auditors or insurers where reasonably necessary
- Government bodies, regulators, courts or law-enforcement authorities where required or permitted by law
ProConnect uses services supplied by Google and Firebase, which may include Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Google Maps Platform.
We do not sell provider personal information.
5. Location permission and control
The app will request device permission before accessing protected location information. You can manage location permission using your device settings.
Turning off location permission may prevent live tracking, navigation, nearby-job features or other location-dependent services from working correctly.
6. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
These measures may include access controls, authenticated user accounts, restricted database and file-storage rules, encrypted network connections and security monitoring.
No internet, mobile or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Providers must protect their account credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorised access.
7. Information retention
We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy or to meet legal, tax, accounting, payment, fraud-prevention, safety and dispute-resolution requirements.
When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete, destroy, anonymise or de-identify it.
Some job, invoice, transaction, complaint or dispute records may be retained after account deletion when retention is required or permitted for legal, financial, security or legitimate record-keeping purposes.

A deletion request may require identity or account verification. Once verified, we will remove or de-identify the account and associated personal information, except information that must or may lawfully be retained.

9. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you
- Request access to your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
- Object to certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent
- Request deletion or restriction where legally available
- Complain about how your information has been handled
We may need to verify your identity before responding to a privacy request.
You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
10. International processing
Some cloud and technology providers may process or store information in countries outside South Africa.
Where information is transferred internationally, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that it receives appropriate protection as required by applicable law.
11. Children
ProConnect Provider is intended for persons who are legally able to provide services and enter into relevant agreements. It is not designed or directed towards children.
Anyone who believes that a child has submitted personal information through the app should contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
12. Third-party links and services
ProConnect Provider may open third-party applications, websites, maps or payment services. Their information practices are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology, legal obligations or information-handling practices change.
The updated version will be published on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate method.
